Last week, the Western Australian Ministry for Agriculture, Food and Forestry quietly lifted their statewide ban on the growth of genetically engineered crops to allow for GE cotton to be grown in the Kimberley valley.

Both "WA Farmers" and the "Pastoralists and Graziers' Association", have applauded the move calling it a step out of the “technological dark ages” for Western Australian agriculture.
