Australia’s medical community has this week criticised the Federal Opposition for failing to pass the National Preventative Health Bill.

The legislation would create a national agency, designed to reduce Australia’s chronic disease burden, related to obesity, smoking and excessive alcohol consumption.

But the Opposition has this week moved a motion to delay consideration of the Bill, until possibly next year.
